The Top Five Controversies of the Exodus

Here is a list I made up of what I believe the top five debated topics are concerning the Exodus of God's people the Hebrews from Egypt. This is one of the foundational stories of all the Old Testament and the New Testament as well. Jesus (Yeshua) and the apostles refereed to this story many times. It is so important that we see this story the way God (Yahweh) sees it. Even though this list is mainly about time frames and locations, these things are important to God. Israel was called to remember what He did in the Exodus (Exodus 13:3, Deut. 8:18 and 9:7). For those of us who are believers in Jesus we are called to dive deep into the roots of out faith. It is such an amazing journey that draws us closer to Him!

1. When was the date of the Exodus?

2. How long were the Hebrews in Egypt?

3. Where is the Red Sea?

4. Where is Mount Sinai?

5. What were the routes the Hebrews took from Egypt to the Promised Land?

I hope to explore these questions in the coming months and years on this blog!

The Fringe Archaeology of Jebel al Lawz (Mount Sinai Canidate) with Steve Rudd

Steve Rudd makes several great points as to why much of the archaeology of Jebel al Lawz does not support the mountain as a candidate for Mount Sinai. He does believe that there geographical possibilities that support this mountain as Sinai. I agree with his assessment of the archaeology, but his geography is way off. Jebel al  Lawz cannot be Sinai because the geography of the route of the Exodus does not even lead to modern day Saudi Arabia. More later! See video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WltSouTvLjs
